Music & performance

From Twin Cities stages
to cinematic piano.

While attending the University of St. Thomas, Anderson first gained recognition through the Twin Cities music scene as part of the band Finest Hour, while also collaborating and performing with other local artists throughout the Minneapolis-St. Paul community. During that era, he appeared at many of the region’s best-known live music venues, including the Varsity Theater, the Fine Line, and venues connected to First Avenue, while also participating in appearances connected to Fox 9’s Battle of the Bands. Read the University of St. Thomas feature.

He later co-wrote and performed alongside founder Dane Schmidt as part of Jamestown Story, during a chapter that included national touring, performances in Japan, and recording sessions in Tokyo. Those songs were co-written and produced with Dane’s brother, Jordan Schmidt—years before Jordan became an award-winning Nashville songwriter and producer.

Anderson’s publishing catalog from that period later earned more than 40 documented television placements. tied to Anderson, 1239 Publishing, and Jamestown Story document 42 television cue uses across programming including Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Jersey Shore, Teen Mom, The Challenge, Dr. Phil, Bad Girls Club, and more. Executive leadership

Creative instinct.
Commercial rigor.

Alongside music, Anderson built more than 15 years of executive and hands-on leadership across digital commerce, growth, marketing technology, analytics, customer experience, AI, and data. He has led businesses at eight-figure annual ecommerce scale, directed multimillion-dollar annual media investment, and built the teams, agency ecosystems, operating systems, and executive reporting needed to turn strategy into measurable growth.

Early digital and marketing roles at the University of St. Thomas, Hubbard Broadcasting, and Stratasys led into entrepreneurship through Anderson Interactive and marketing leadership at Nagios Enterprises. At Coolibar, he progressed through increasingly senior roles to Senior Director of Ecommerce & Digital Marketing, leading commerce at eight-figure annual revenue scale and serving on the senior leadership team with direct exposure to ownership and quarterly board discussions. He later served as Vice President of Ecommerce at Brief Insanity / American Mills and Director of Ecommerce & Digital Marketing for Mann Lake Bee & Ag Supply and Stromberg’s Chickens.

Across those roles, his work has included revenue and P&L leadership; multimillion-dollar media planning; acquisition and retention; platform modernization; Shopify and BigCommerce; Amazon marketplaces; SEO and product feeds; lifecycle and CRM automation; conversion and UX; executive analytics; systems integration; agency and vendor direction; and the development of cross-functional teams. He combines strategy with hands-on execution, translating customer and commercial data into clear priorities, focused delivery, and measurable growth.

The return

Back to the music,
with more to say.

Influenced by Minnesota’s changing seasons, lakeside summers, late-night drives, reflection, and decades of creative experimentation, Anderson eventually returned to a catalog of unfinished demos, voice memos, and late-night recordings developed over more than a decade. Those fragments became Emotions: a cinematic instrumental album blending emotional piano, ambient textures, nostalgia, and modern production.

The professional and creative lives are not competing stories. Both are grounded in audience empathy, brand storytelling, disciplined experimentation, and the desire to make complicated things feel clear, human, and memorable.
